Obituaries

 

VanWye, Eugene G., 98, passed peacefully Wednesday (1/27/16) at home.  Born in Winsted, CT a son of the late Eugene  and Ethel (Barteau) VanWhy.  He had been married to his late wife Grace (Kenyon) VanWye for 49  years.

Mr. VanWhy was a graduate of the RI School of Design class of 1941.  He worked with the RI Dept. of Environmental Management as a draftsman until 1990 and taught art at the RI ACI.  He was a US Army Veteran of WWII attaining the rank of Sergeant.  

He leaves a daughter, Holly L. VanWye with whom he lived.  He was brother of the late John, Theodore and Joseph VanWhy and Julie Sivert.

A Committal Service will be held Saturday at 10:00am in Phillips Memorial Cemetery, 10 North Road, Foster, 02815.  Visit Cranstonfuneral.com.
